About Us

After working for a contractor on an extensive

custom home project Rodney realized his passion

for the construction industry. He made the decision

to get his General Contractors license. In 2007 he

started his own company Black Sand Construction.

Over the years Rodney has gained knowledge and experience in a constantly evolving industry. We are big enough to be competitive without loosing that personal touch. Rodney loves being in the field, while staying involved in every project from beginning to end, its his passion.

The inspiration for the company name comes from the black sand beaches of Costa Rica where he was born. In his private life Rodney enjoys fishing, gardening and spending time with his wife and three Kids Sophia, Kamryn and Reid.

Orlando Aguirre

Field Technician

Orlando is a valuable member of our construction team since 2019. He is actively involved in day to day

renovation activities, including demolition, drywall, painting, lighting, flooring, and fixture installation.,

Alex Flynn

Field Apprentice

Alex is the newest member of our team, he has been with us since the spring of 2021. He has demonstrated good work ethic an enthusiasm for learning the different facets of construction.

Marcia Amaral

Office Assistant

Marcia is an integral member of our team. She has been with Black Sand Construction since 2016. Her responsibilities include permitting, client relations, accounting, scheduling and assisting with day-to-day clerical support.
